Located in Perth, our fully equipped workshop is capable of delivering a wide range of on-site welding services and repairs.

Aluminium is an extremely reactive metal. Basic aluminium forms an oxide layer within a few minutes of exposure to air. These oxide layers help to protect the aluminium and to prevent any further corrosion, it’s these special characteristics that makes aluminium last so well. The downside to this reactivity is that the aluminium dust and shavings (created during the cutting or filing of alloy) can easily catch fire during the welding process and can prove to be extremely dangerous if not handled correctly. When aluminium is mixed with steel dust it becomes substantially more dangerous and forms the basis of what we know today as thermite – a highly explosive substance.
